The DFL-160 fullfils the needs of small offices –up to 30 users- without IT resource, providing professional network protection against the wide variety of threats present in the modern online world. By integrating full UTM services out of the box without per-user license fees, this appliance addresses business concerns regarding network security, at a competitive price.
Robust Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)
To protect against sofware vulnerabilities, the DFL-160 adopts a unique IPS technology, component-based signatures, that is built to recognise patterns, thus protecting not only against known attacks, but unknown ones as well. Signatures are automatically generated from live Internet activity collected by a global grid of sensors and pushed to the device in real time. Without overloading the appliance, these signatures ensure a high ratio of detection accuracy and the lowest ratio of false positives.
Stream-based virus scanning
The DFL-160 scans files of any size, using a stream-based virus scanning technology that does not require any caching. The appliance uses virus signatures from the respected antivirus company Kaspersky Labs to provide users with reliable and accurate antivirus signatures, as well as prompt signature updates. Viruses and malware consequently can be effectively blocked before they reach the network's desktops or mobile devices.
Web Content Filtering (WCF)
Web Content Filtering helps you monitor, manage and control employee usage of the Internet. The DFL-160 constantly polls global index servers with millions of URLs and real-time website information, enabling it to allow or disallow access to certain types of websites.
Powerful VPN performance
Virtual Private Networks (VPN) allow users to access the office data safely from remote locations, whether from home, in a hotel, or on the road.
Up to 30 VPN tunnels can be managed on the DFL-160. It supports IPSec, PPTP, and L2TP protocols in Client/Server mode and can handle pass-through traffic as well. User authentication is performed using the internal firewall database that supports up to 250 accounts.
Hardware accelerator
The DFL-160 uses a hardware accelerator approach to carry out IPS and Anti-Virus scanning functions simultaneously without degrading firewall and VPN performance.
This powerful accelerator allows the firewall to perform with much higher throughput than other antivirus-capable UTM firewalls on the market.
User-friendly configuration and management
The DFL-160’s compact and unobtrusive desktop chassis is easily incorporated into an existing network. A user-friendly web interface assists with initial setup and simplifies the configuration of complex security settings.
In addition, the firewall implements bandwidth management, to ensure an efficient allocation of network capacity and to minimise congestion.
